Charles Dubois Hendrickson
Birth: Jul. 2, 1845 Death: Feb. 10, 1899 Mr. Hendrickson was born on the old homestead in Middletown and was educated at Lawrenceville academy.He was the son of Senator William H. Hendrickson, and in 1875 and 1876, represented Monmouth County in the legislature, and was later the Democratic nominee for speaker of the house. He served as a Lieutenant in Company G and was elected captain in 1884 but declined to serve. He served as captain and president of the associaton of verterans of Raritan Guard, belonged to the Caesarea lodge of Free Masons of Keyport, and was a charter member of Bayside lodge of Odd Fellows. He was also president of the Middletown & Keyport Turnpike company for many years. At the time of his death he was the president of the Keyport Hook & Ladder Company.His wife was Mattie Rue of Bristol, Pa., and they had one daughter, Miss May Hendrickson.(Red Bank Register, 15 Feb 1899) Inscription:Aged 53y
