William Henry Hendrickson Birth: Jun. 3, 1813 Death: Feb. 20, 1899 Mr. Hendrickson was a descendent of the pioneer settlers of Monmouth County and at the time of his death owned the original lands his ancestors had settled. He served three terms representing Monmouth County in the state senate and had been a member of the board of freeholders. He had also been the president of the Farmers' and Merchants' bank of Matawan. His first wife was Miss Elizabeth E. Woodward of Cream Ridge, whom he married in 1899. She died in 1865. Their children were Henry M. Hendrickson, who farmed the homestead in Holmdel, Mrs. Wm. H. Barron of NYC, and Hon. Charles D. Hendrickson, who predeceased his father by two weeks. His second wife was Miss Rebecca F. C. Patterson, daughter of James Patterson & sister of Hon. John H. Patterson of Middletown. Their children were William H. Hendrickson, Jr., who worked at the Merchantile bank of Red Bank, and James P. Hendrickson, who lived at home at the time of his father's death.
