Hendrick. or Harry, bap. September 11. 1737. went to England with his brother Daniel, after the Revolutionary war. and was in England at the time of his brother's death. Since then nothing was ever heard of him.

Hendrick Van Mater enlisted in the Loyalist cause, joining Cortland Skinner's Brigade. Huis home and lands were subseqently seized and sold to the higest bidder by the Monmouth County Courts March 19, 1779. Hendrick was arrested as a Loyalist and jailed for six months in Maryland beginning in 1776.
