Jodie loved this work and the horses were all his pets. He went to school in Richmond and his sweetheart was Margaret Jane QUIGLEY. They were married in the Endowment House in Salt Lake City. About this time, with his father, they moved to Swan Lake, Idaho to a better range for the stock. Later they both moved to the Snake River Country on Fall River. Together they raised oats, barley and hay. Janie, as his wife was called, died 30 NOV 1894, leaving a new born baby and five other children. Jodie's mother took the family and with the help of her daughter, Libbie, she raised them until the baby, Lucius was 25 years old. Jodie worked in the saw mill which was at the confluence of the Snake and Warm Rivers. Church services were held at his father's home until they constructed a chapel. He was active in both Sunday School and the Mutual Improvement Association. Jodie passed away 17 AUG 1924 at Idaho Falls, Idaho.
