Holmes- pg. 65 - 74 April 1788. The comissioners divided the real estate of Daniel Holmes, dec'd, amongst the legatees of his will where applicable and when not applicable, according to law. Daiel Holmes, dec'd owned a farm and plantation in Freehold Tshp. and a salt meadows lot at Canascunck in Middletown Tshp. This land was divided equally between James Holmes, Philip Holmes, and William Holmes, his three surviving sons. The deceased alos owned two other lots in Freehold Tshp. that he left to his son Jonathan Holmes, now deceased. This land was divided between the siblings of Joathan Holmes, dec'd, identified as his heirs. Siblings of Jonathan Holmes, dec'd, son of Daniel Holmes, dec'd; James Holmes, Philip Holmes, William Holmes, Catherine Stoutenburgh, Sarah Holmes, Jane Holmes, and Mary Holmes.
