Klaas van Dyke Hendrick hendrickhendrickse
francyntie van Dyke annetie Kros
The most interesting thing about this baptism are the witnesses. Annetie/Antie Kros/Cros was a daughter of Geesje Brandt from her first marriage to Jan van Eckelen/Eckele and she was the wife of Hans Kros/Cros as the following New Amsterdam baptism proves: 1705 Apr 15; Marte Beekman, Neeltje Slingerlant; Rachel; Anthony Rutgers, Antje Van Ekele wife of Hans Kros (witnesses). Another New Amsterdam baptism lists her with her husband: 1706- 24 Apr; James Waters, Maritje Bratt; Annetje; Anthony Kaar, Hans Kros, Antje Van Heekele (witnesses). So she was a half sister to Francyntje Hendrickse. Hendrick Hendrickse was a resident of Monmouth Co., NJ and was thought to have been the father of the brothers Willem and Daniel Hendrickson also of Monmouth by George C. Beekman in Early Dutch Setllers of Monmouth Co., NJ. This was diproven by Henry B. Hoff of the NY Gen. & Biog. Society in Vol. 106, No 1, p. 1-2 of the NYGB Record when he documented that Willem and Daniel were sons of Hendrick Willemsz and Geesje Bradt of Albany, NY. He later documented that Francyntje was also a daughter of Hendrick and Geesje. If so then who was Hendrick Hendrickse? Well as his name suggests, and since he named his only daughter Geesje, then he was probably the son of Hendrick Willensz and Geesje Bradt also.
