      He enlisted 4 March 1777 on his 16th birthday in Captain John Schenck's Company, Shrewsburg, Monmouth Co., New Jersey. He was also in Colonel Nathaniel Scudder's Regiment under General David Forman. He was later under Colonel Holmes under Captain Cathart Smook and Merrimer. He was confined to North Church Prision for 3 months in 1780. He was discharged in 1782. He participated in the Battles of Germantown and Monmouth. Change Date: 4 JUN 2004 at 12:29:09
