Alpheus HENDRICKSON 1991: 80 1963: NA
There is confusion about this child because information furnished from his Drake's Valley Cemetery headstone reads as follows: "Alpheus son of W.A. and M.A. Hendrickson, died 11 Feb 1811, age 31y-1m-16d". If this were accurate, Alpheus' birth year would be 1780, and as William and Mary Ann were both born later than that, this could not be their son. However, as the inscription clearly states that his parents were W.A. & M.A., and as the headstone is situated two plots away from Mary Ann's and William's graves, (with another of their sons, Edward, between), it seems safe to assume he was their child. It could be that he was age 3 yrs, not 31, in which case he would have been born about 1808. Or other possibilities are that the death date was read wrong and was something like 11 Feb 1841, making the age correct; or that the 11 Feb 1811 date was a birth date, not a death date. This question obviously needs to be carefully researched in the future.
