      In the name of God amen, I Mathias Lane of the Canajoharie in the County of Montgomery and State of New York being weak in body but of sound Mind & perfect Memory and knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to die make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say I recommend my Soul to God who gave it in humble hope of a gracious reception through the Merits of our lord Jesus Christ and my body to the dust to be buried in a decent Christian manner at the discretion of my Executors herein aftermentioned and named. With regard to my worldly affairs wherewith it hath pleased the lord to bless me I dispose of them in the manner following - I will order and direct that my funeral charges and all my just Debts of every description be first paid by my Executors immediately after my decease. - I give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Margareth all my household furniture and Implements of household- Also one Room in my dwelling House that is the Room above the cellar Kitchen together with the privilege and use of one fourth part of the cellar in my now dwelling House with free ingress, egress & regress. I do further give and bequeath unto my said Wife the Sum of one hundred and two Dollars and fifty Cents annually to be paid out of my real Estate and I do hereby will and order that the said Sum of one hundred and two Dollars & fifty Cents shall be paid by my Devisees annually in the following manner that is to say I will that my six sons John,Gilbert, William, Cornelius, Phenix & Mathias their heirs or Assigns shall pay to my said Wife Annually the sum of ten Dollars and fifty Cents each and I will and order that my five Daughters Polly, Sally,Elenor, Margareth & Harriet shall pay they their Heirs or Assigns unto my said wife annually the sum of seven Dollars and fifty Cents eachand I do will and order that my said beloved Wife shall be entitled to the different Legacies and annual payments during her widowhood and no longer. - I give and bequeath all my real and personal Estate (except such as shall be herein after excepted and not aboved disposed of) unto my Sons John, Gilbert, William, Cornelius, Phenix 7 Mathias and my Daughters Polly, Sally, Elenor, Margareth & Harriet to be devidedin the following proportion that is the Sons to have each three partsand the Daughters each two parts out of five that is to say, if theSons have three hundred Dollars a piece the Daughters are to have twohundred Dollars each and so in that proportion. - It is my willhowever and I hereby order and direct that in apportioning my Estateamong my Children such Sums or Estate shall be deemed and taken aspart of my Estate and shall be deemed a part of his or her proportionwho has been so advanced so the all my Sons may be equal to each otherand all my Daughters may be equal to one another this devise of myreal Estate to them my said Children their Heirs and Assigns for ever.It is also my will and I do further direct and order that such improvements as have been made by my three oldest Sons namely John Gilbert and William in erecting buildings on any of my Estate such buildings shall not be valued or deemed a part of my Estate but they who have so build shall be allowed the exclusive profits of such building according to the value thereof over and above his equal proportion. - It is further my will and order that two Acres of landon which the Saw Mill is erected be reserved out of my real Estateaboved devised and the two Acres of land are hereby excepted in such aShape form and situation as to contain the said Saw Mill - the Dam thewater Courses necessary to & for said Mill the yards for logs & Boards together with necessary Roads to & from said Mill which last said two Acres of land together with the said Saw Mill I give and devise unto my five Sons to wit, John, William, Cornelius, Phenix and Mathias to be apportioned among them in the following manner that is the equalone third part thereof unto my son John his Heirs and Assigns for everand the further equal one third part thereof unto my Son William his Heirs and Assigns for ever, and remaining equal one third part thereof- unto my Sons Cornelius, Phenix, and Mathias their Heirs and Assigns forever. It is my will and desire that my Executors herein afternamed shall cause a just division to be made of my said Estate and direct specially how and in what manner the Shares and proportion ofthose of my Children which have not arrived to their lawful age shallbe placed and put to use for the advantage of the owners - and -Lastly I nominate and appoint my three Sons John Lane, Gilbert Lane & William Lane Executors of this my last Will and Testament and declaring this to be my last Will & Testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my Hand & Seal this twenty sixth Day of April in theyear of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and eleven.
