According to this information and information retained by the KY Hinton Families Susan Hinton was the last child born to John and Margaret (Hendricks) Hinton before Margaret died. It is very possible that Margaret died at the time of Susan's birth.

Margaret's death date is not known but the 1840 census seems to indicate that she probably died after it's compilation since John's other wives were much younger than Margaret and it indicates that the oldest female was between 30 and 40 years of age.
