  Lorin was spared from military service during the draft to care for his family since his father died young. He supported two younger brothers on missions for the church. 1910- graduated from Brigham Young College in Logan,Ut in Business administration. 1912- recieved veterenary medicine degree from Ohio State Univ. Lorin was a loan director for the PCA, 15 years with the merchants trust Co., member of school board and county commissioner. He was also mayor of Lewiston.
