Cornelius served throughout the Revolutionary War, 1775/83. There is no record of his service in Washington,D.C., but I obtained a certificate from the Adjutant General of New Jersey that he was a private in the Middlesex County Militia...According to family tradition, Cornelius was bayonetted and left for dead at the Battle of Princeton in 1777. He claimed this was due to the betrayal of positions of outposts by a Tory who later on migrated to Beaver County.......The 1790 census lists Cornelius Hendrickson in Mifflin County,PA...1797 moved to Lawrence, PA...The 1800 census of Beaver County shows in the household of Cornelius ......Cornelius and his family moved to the New Castle area in 1797/8...."Mcconnell cites from The History of Lawrence County, Pa published by Evertts in 1877:'Cornelius Hendrickson, the old gentleman, was somewhat of a practitioner of medicine, and was popularly known as 'Doctor Hendrickson.' His practice partook somewhat of an 'Electric" school, and more perhaps of the Thompsonian. His remedies were taken from the roots and herbs of the county, and he is described as having been an excellent nurse..."from McConnell "Sometime after December 1, 1819 ...he moved to Ohio. It is said to have been in Springfield Township in what is now Mahoning County, but I have been unable to find any authentic record of him in that state." (I think she has him in the wrong area of the county, although Springfield Township of Columbiana county became part of Mahoning county in 1846 - [S38] Hendricks, Andrew A.
